One BOA Resources Insider Raised Stake By 5,756% In Previous Year
From what we can see, insiders were net buyers in BOA Resources Limited's (ASX:BOA ) during the past 12 months. That is, insiders acquired the stock in greater numbers than they sold it.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
BOA Resources Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by insider Robert Van der Laan for AU$432k worth of shares, at about AU$0.025 per share. That implies that an insider found the current price of AU$0.027 per share to be enticing. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. Happily, the BOA Resources insider decided to buy shares at close to current prices. Robert Van der Laan was the only individual insider to buy during the last year.

Does BOA Resources Boast High Insider Ownership?
Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. It appears that BOA Resources insiders own 29% of the company, worth about AU$1.1m. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.
What Might The Insider Transactions At BOA Resources Tell Us?
It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchase. And an analysis of the transactions over the last year also gives us confidence. However, we note that the company didn't make a profit over the last twelve months, which makes us cautious. Insiders likely see value in BOA Resources shares, given these transactions (along with notable insider ownership of the company). So while it's helpful to know what insiders are doing in terms of buying or selling, it's also helpful to know the risks that a particular company is facing. While conducting our analysis, we found that BOA Resources has 4 warning signs and it would be unwise to ignore them.
