Daniel Cornelius Peeters Is The Executive Director of Corporate & Director of Goodman Group (ASX:GMG) And They Just Sold 48% Of Their Shares
We wouldn't blame Goodman Group (ASX:GMG) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Daniel Cornelius Peeters, the Executive Director of Corporate & Director recently netted about AU$18m selling shares at an average price of AU$18.32. That sale reduced their total holding by 48% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Goodman Group
The Group CEO & Director, Gregory Goodman, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for AU$29m worth of shares at a price of AU$16.42 each. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of AU$18.15, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. However, while insider selling is sometimes discouraging, it's only a weak signal. It is worth noting that this sale was 93% of Gregory Goodman's holding.
In the last twelve months insiders purchased 21.91k shares for AU$382k. But they sold 3.03m shares for AU$52m. In total, Goodman Group insiders sold more than they bought over the last year. Insider Ownership
Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Goodman Group insiders own 0.4% of the company, currently worth about AU$139m based on the recent share price. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
