GeoPark: One Founder Was Right

Summary GeoPark's stock has stagnated since 2021. Management struggles with production setbacks and significant debt levels. The company's debt is still likely a major obstacle to stock price appreciation. Questions about the company's ability to improve its financial health and stock value appear valid. GeoPark Limited: A Deep Value Play

Summary GeoPark Limited is a midcap oil producer with significant growth in LATAM, showing strong revenue and EBITDA growth, making it a compelling buy. The company's low EV/EBITDA ratio of 1.92x and Price/Cash Flow ratio of 1.16x indicate a great margin of safety and upside potential. GeoPark's acquisition in the Vaca Muerta basin in Argentina significantly boosts reserves and production, enhancing its position in a highly productive field. Despite geopolitical and market risks, GeoPark's solid cash flows, impressive EBITDA margins, and strategic acquisitions present a strong investment opportunity. GeoPark Is An Undervalued Small Cap

Summary GeoPark's share price is under $8.5, with a market cap of $430 million, but strong assets and investments promise substantial long-term returns. The company aims to grow production to 85,000 barrels/day, maintain cash generation at 2-4x capex, and keep debt manageable. GeoPark's significant acquisition in Argentina, despite increasing debt, is expected to triple production and drive future growth, targeting $350 million net adjusted EBITDA. Risks include volatile oil prices and high debt, which could impact refinancing and shareholder returns if market conditions worsen. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

GeoPark: Still Too Expensive Considering The Risks Involved

Summary Under the assumption of $80 Brent prices, GeoPark is expected to generate free cash flows of approximately $90 million in 2024, the equivalent of a 20% free cash flow yield. The large and voluntary production curtailments at LLA-34 in the spring of 2020 could have permanently damaged the reservoir and, consequently, future productivity. GeoPark expects LLA-34 production volumes to decline between 10% and 15% during the second half of 2024. To my knowledge, this piece of information is not disclosed by Parex. Considering the aggressive capital structure, the deteriorating operating environment in Colombia, and the capital allocation risks, I view the valuation as still too expensive.
