Mothercare plc Announces Resignation of Mark Newton from the Board Mothercare plc announced upon Clive Whiley’s appointment as Chairman, Mark Newton Jones agreed to return to the board as a non-executive director to lend his support to the Transformation Plan and subsequently the actions necessary to combat the impact of the pandemic and the Ukraine conflict on the business. Jamilco Reportedly Wants to Buy Mothercare Assets in Russia Mfk Dzhamilko, Ao (Jamilco) plans to buy the Russian business of Mothercare plc (AIM:MTC), which announced its withdrawal from the Russian market, business daily Kommersant reported on October 26, 2022 citing three sources in the retail market. According to the sources, the distributor is in talks with the Kuwaiti company M.H. Alshaya Co. W.L.L. (Alshaya Group), which owns the master franchise brand Mothercare in Russia. According to one of the daily's interlocutors, as a part of the deal Jamilco will receive the lease rights for the stores of the Mothercare brand, as well as unsold goods.
