Possible Bearish Signals With Bidvest Group Insiders Disposing Stock
The fact that multiple The Bidvest Group Limited (JSE:BVT) insiders offloaded a considerable amount of shares over the past year could have raised some eyebrows amongst investors. When analyzing insider transactions, it is usually more valuable to know whether insiders are buying versus knowing if they are selling, as the latter sends an ambiguous message. However, when multiple insiders sell stock over a specific duration, shareholders should take notice as that could possibly be a red flag.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Bidvest Group
In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the CFO & Executive Director, Mark Steyn, sold R17m worth of shares at a price of R287 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is R254. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.

So What Do The Bidvest Group Insider Transactions Indicate?
It doesn't really mean much that no insider has traded Bidvest Group shares in the last quarter. We don't take much encouragement from the transactions by Bidvest Group insiders. But it's good to see that insiders own shares in the company.
