The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Wrap Technologies
The Founder Scot Cohen made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$2.0m worth of shares at a price of US$1.80 each. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$1.53 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.
Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 1.43m shares worth US$2.6m. But they sold 146.53k shares for US$253k. In the last twelve months there was more buying than selling by Wrap Technologies insiders. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
