Quantum Computing Inc.: The Story Is Big, But The Valuation Must Be Earned

Summary Quantum Computing Inc. (QUBT) is rated Hold, reflecting high uncertainty in commercializing its differentiated room-temperature photonic quantum platform. QUBT's recent LSI and NuCrypt acquisitions expand manufacturing capability and customer exposure, but organic revenue remains minimal versus acquisition-driven growth. My DCF implies a ~$10 share price, closely aligned with current levels; I favor a wait-and-see approach until commercial traction is clearer. QUBT's strategic optionality is offset by intense competition, uncertain government support, and a long path to meaningful recurring revenues. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Important Quantum Computing Concerns Are Resolving For The Better

Summary If you need numbers, Quantum Computing (QUBT) is not for you. This is an embryonic company analogous to pre-commercial R&D-oriented biotechs. So, it’s the story that matters. I and short sellers worried about QUBT based on lack of business-mission clarity, and questions about whether leased office space could, as QUBT says, fulfill legitimate chip foundry functions. I worried more on learning QUBT’s still-new CEO would soon retire. But after studying the interim CEO (and current Chief Quantum Officer), I did a 180. The guy is very legit. Also, my deep dive into the foundry showed me the short sellers didn’t properly research it. QUBT’s space is part of a big-time university Research Park having serious chip-making capabilities. I now see QUBT as a bona-fide play in the intriguing photonic-quantum niche. Depending on how quickly it can fulfill arriving orders for its new optical chip, the stock could soar or tank. Splitting the difference, I’m at “Hold.”. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Quantum Computing Q4 Earnings: Why I'm Downgrading To A Sell

Summary Quantum Computing Inc. stock dropped 10% post-earnings; despite positive aspects, I downgrade it to a sell due to overvaluation and speculative nature. The company has enough cash for two years but minimal revenue, making its $1 billion market cap unjustifiable. Heavy dilution and a long road to profitability make it hard to justify holding QUBT, despite interesting technology and cash reserves. While potential upside exists with new partnerships and technology, the current valuation and revenue growth do not support holding the stock. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Avoid Quantum Computing Inc. At All Costs

Summary We rate Quantum Computing a 'Strong Sell' due to the company's astronomical valuation and dismal financials. QUBT's $1.3 billion market cap is largely speculative, and we see significant downside risk as the company struggles to compete with industry giants and other startups. Despite raising $190 million, the Company's core business lacks product-market fit, and we don't think the firm has sufficient resources to attract top talent and achieve meaningful progress. Shorting the stock appears too risky, but if you're invested, this could be a great chance to get out. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha
