Several Insiders Invested In Grove Collaborative Holdings Flagging Positive News
When a single insider purchases stock, it is typically not a major deal. However, when multiple insiders purchase stock, like in Grove Collaborative Holdings, Inc.'s (NYSE:GROV) instance, it's good news for shareholders.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Grove Collaborative Holdings
In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when insider Jason Karp bought US$86k worth of shares at a price of US$1.17 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of US$1.23. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. The good news for Grove Collaborative Holdings share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.
While Grove Collaborative Holdings insiders bought shares during the last year, they didn't sell. Insider Ownership
Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. From our data, it seems that Grove Collaborative Holdings insiders own 8.6% of the company, worth about US$5.3m. But they may have an indirect interest through a corporate structure that we haven't picked up on. Whilst better than nothing, we're not overly impressed by these holdings.
So What Do The Grove Collaborative Holdings Insider Transactions Indicate?
There haven't been any insider transactions in the last three months -- that doesn't mean much. But insiders have shown more of an appetite for the stock, over the last year. While we have no worries about the insider transactions, we'd be more comfortable if they owned more Grove Collaborative Holdings stock.
