What You Need To Know About The Offerpad Solutions Inc. (NYSE:OPAD) Analyst Downgrade Today
One thing we could say about the analysts on Offerpad Solutions Inc. (NYSE:OPAD) - they aren't optimistic, having just made a major negative revision to their near-term (statutory) forecasts for the organization. There was a fairly draconian cut to their revenue estimates, perhaps an implicit admission that previous forecasts were much too optimistic.

The consensus price target rose 11% to US$1.18, seeming to imply that weaker revenue sentiment is not expected to have a major impact on the company's valuation.
Looking at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can make sense of these forecasts is to see how they measure up against both past performance and industry growth estimates. We would also point out that the forecast 8.8% annualised revenue decline to the end of 2025 is better than the historical trend, which saw revenues shrink 64% annually over the past three years By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to see their revenue grow 10% per year. So it's pretty clear that, while it does have declining revenues, the analysts also expect Offerpad Solutions to suffer worse than the wider industry.
The Bottom Line
Regrettably, they also downgraded their revenue estimates, and the latest forecasts imply the business will grow sales slower than the wider market. There was also a nice increase in the price target, with analysts apparently feeling that the intrinsic value of the business is improving. Often, one downgrade can set off a daisy-chain of cuts, especially if an industry is in decline. So we wouldn't be surprised if the market became a lot more cautious on Offerpad Solutions after today.
