Paragon 28 Insiders Sell US$2.8m Of Stock, Possibly Signalling Caution
The fact that multiple Paragon 28, Inc. (NYSE:FNA) insiders offloaded a considerable amount of shares over the past year could have raised some eyebrows amongst investors. When analyzing insider transactions, it is usually more valuable to know whether insiders are buying versus knowing if they are selling, as the latter sends an ambiguous message. However, shareholders should take a deeper look if several insiders are selling stock over a specific time period.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Paragon 28
In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Co-Founder, Albert DaCosta, sold US$2.6m worth of shares at a price of US$17.00 per share. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$14.27). So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels. Notably Albert DaCosta was also the biggest buyer, having purchased US$260k worth of shares.

Insider Ownership Of Paragon 28
Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. It's great to see that Paragon 28 insiders own 24% of the company, worth about US$283m. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
