This Analyst Just Downgraded Their Fractal Gaming Group AB (publ) (STO:FRACTL) EPS Forecasts
One thing we could say about the covering analyst on Fractal Gaming Group AB (publ) (STO:FRACTL) - they aren't optimistic, having just made a major negative revision to their near-term (statutory) forecasts for the organization. Both revenue and earnings per share (EPS) forecasts went under the knife, suggesting the analyst has soured majorly on the business.
Following this downgrade, Fractal Gaming Group's solo analyst are forecasting 2024 revenues to be kr676m, approximately in line with the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are anticipated to plummet 25% to kr1.38 in the same period. Prior to this update, the analyst had been forecasting revenues of kr753m and earnings per share (EPS) of kr2.64 in 2024. It looks like analyst sentiment has declined substantially, with a substantial drop in revenue estimates and a pretty serious decline to earnings per share numbers as well.

The consensus price target fell 24% to kr32.00, with the weaker earnings outlook clearly leading analyst valuation estimates.
Looking at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can make sense of these forecasts is to see how they measure up against both past performance and industry growth estimates. These estimates imply that sales are expected to slow, with a forecast annualised revenue decline of 0.5% by the end of 2024. This indicates a significant reduction from annual growth of 19% over the last three years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in the same industry are forecast to see their revenue grow 7.0% annually for the foreseeable future. So although its revenues are forecast to shrink, this cloud does not come with a silver lining - Fractal Gaming Group is expected to lag the wider industry.
The Bottom Line
The most important thing to take away is that the analyst cut their earnings per share estimates, expecting a clear decline in business conditions. Unfortunately the analyst also downgraded their revenue estimates, and industry data suggests that Fractal Gaming Group's revenues are expected to grow slower than the wider market. After such a stark change in sentiment from the analyst, we'd understand if readers now felt a bit wary of Fractal Gaming Group.
Even so, the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for the value creation of shareholders. At least one analyst has provided forecasts out to 2025, which can be seen for free on our platform here.
