Some have more dollars than sense, they say, so even companies that have no revenue, no profit, and a record of falling short, can easily find investors. Unfortunately, high risk investments often have little probability of ever paying off, and many investors pay a price to learn their lesson.
So if you're like me, you might be more interested in profitable, growing companies, like Zordix (NGM:ZORDIX B). Now, I'm not saying that the stock is necessarily undervalued today; but I can't shake an appreciation for the profitability of the business itself. Conversely, a loss-making company is yet to prove itself with profit, and eventually the sweet milk of external capital may run sour.

How Fast Is Zordix Growing Its Earnings Per Share?
Even modest earnings per share growth (EPS) can create meaningful value, when it is sustained reliably from year to year. So it's no surprise that some investors are more inclined to invest in profitable businesses. Like a firecracker arcing through the night sky, Zordix's EPS shot from kr0.095 to kr0.20, over the last year. You don't see 107% year-on-year growth like that, very often. The best case scenario? That the business has hit a true inflection point.
Careful consideration of revenue growth and earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) margins can help inform a view on the sustainability of the recent profit growth. While we note Zordix's EBIT margins were flat over the last year, revenue grew by a solid 86% to kr34m. That's progress.
You can take a look at the company's revenue and earnings growth trend, in the chart below. To see the actual numbers, click on the chart.
Since Zordix is no giant, with a market capitalization of kr682m, so you should definitely check its cash and debt before getting too excited about its prospects.
Are Zordix Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
Many consider high insider ownership to be a strong sign of alignment between the leaders of a company and the ordinary shareholders. So as you can imagine, the fact that Zordix insiders own a significant number of shares certainly appeals to me. In fact, they own 37% of the shares, making insiders a very influential shareholder group. I'm reassured by this kind of alignment, as it suggests the business will be run for the benefit of shareholders. With that sort of holding, insiders have about kr252m riding on the stock, at current prices. That's nothing to sneeze at!
Does Zordix Deserve A Spot On Your Watchlist?
Zordix's earnings per share have taken off like a rocket aimed right at the moon. That EPS growth certainly has my attention, and the large insider ownership only serves to further stoke my interest. At times fast EPS growth is a sign the business has reached an inflection point; and I do like those. So yes, on this short analysis I do think it's worth considering Zordix for a spot on your watchlist. It is worth noting though that we have found 5 warning signs for Zordix (1 is a bit concerning!) that you need to take into consideration.
Although Zordix certainly looks good to me, I would like it more if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, too, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
