It's only natural that many investors, especially those who are new to the game, prefer to buy shares in 'sexy' stocks with a good story, even if those businesses lose money. But the reality is that when a company loses money each year, for long enough, its investors will usually take their share of those losses.
So if you're like me, you might be more interested in profitable, growing companies, like CI Games (WSE:CIG). Even if the shares are fully valued today, most capitalists would recognize its profits as the demonstration of steady value generation. While a well funded company may sustain losses for years, unless its owners have an endless appetite for subsidizing the customer, it will need to generate a profit eventually, or else breathe its last breath.

How Fast Is CI Games Growing Its Earnings Per Share?
In the last three years CI Games's earnings per share took off like a rocket; fast, and from a low base. So the actual rate of growth doesn't tell us much. As a result, I'll zoom in on growth over the last year, instead. Like the last firework on New Year's Eve accelerating into the sky, CI Games's EPS shot from zł0.081 to zł0.15, over the last year. Year on year growth of 90% is certainly a sight to behold. The best case scenario? That the business has hit a true inflection point.
One way to double-check a company's growth is to look at how its revenue, and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) margins are changing. The good news is that CI Games is growing revenues, and EBIT margins improved by 14.6 percentage points to 36%, over the last year. That's great to see, on both counts.

Are CI Games Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
It makes me feel more secure owning shares in a company if insiders also own shares, thusly more closely aligning our interests. So it is good to see that CI Games insiders have a significant amount of capital invested in the stock. To be specific, they have zł94m worth of shares. That's a lot of money, and no small incentive to work hard. Those holdings account for over 29% of the company; visible skin in the game.
Does CI Games Deserve A Spot On Your Watchlist?
CI Games's earnings per share have taken off like a rocket aimed right at the moon. That EPS growth certainly has my attention, and the large insider ownership only serves to further stoke my interest. The hope is, of course, that the strong growth marks a fundamental improvement in the business economics. So yes, on this short analysis I do think it's worth considering CI Games for a spot on your watchlist. However, before you get too excited we've discovered 1 warning sign for CI Games that you should be aware of.
Although CI Games certainly looks good to me, I would like it more if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, too, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
