Rainbows and Unicorns: 11 bit studios S.A. (WSE:11B) Analysts Just Became A Lot More Optimistic
Shareholders in 11 bit studios S.A. (WSE:11B) may be thrilled to learn that the analysts have just delivered a major upgrade to their near-term forecasts. The consensus statutory numbers for both revenue and earnings per share (EPS) increased, with their view clearly much more bullish on the company's business prospects.
Following the latest upgrade, the three analysts covering 11 bit studios provided consensus estimates of zł57m revenue in 2021, which would reflect a considerable 20% decline on its sales over the past 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are supposed to nosedive 26% to zł7.78 in the same period. Before this latest update, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of zł49m and earnings per share (EPS) of zł6.74 in 2021. So we can see there's been a pretty clear increase in analyst sentiment in recent times, with both revenues and earnings per share receiving a decent lift in the latest estimates.

Despite these upgrades, the analysts have not made any major changes to their price target of zł560, suggesting that the higher estimates are not likely to have a long term impact on what the stock is worth. Fixating on a single price target can be unwise though, since the consensus target is effectively the average of analyst price targets. As a result, some investors like to look at the range of estimates to see if there are any diverging opinions on the company's valuation. Currently, the most bullish analyst values 11 bit studios at zł667 per share, while the most bearish prices it at zł464. There are definitely some different views on the stock, but the range of estimates is not wide enough as to imply that the situation is unforecastable, in our view.
Looking at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can make sense of these forecasts is to see how they measure up against both past performance and industry growth estimates. These estimates imply that sales are expected to slow, with a forecast annualised revenue decline of 25% by the end of 2021. This indicates a significant reduction from annual growth of 30% over the last five years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in the same industry are forecast to see their revenue grow 12% annually for the foreseeable future. So although its revenues are forecast to shrink, this cloud does not come with a silver lining - 11 bit studios is expected to lag the wider industry.
The Bottom Line
The biggest takeaway for us from these new estimates is that analysts upgraded their earnings per share estimates, with improved earnings power expected for this year. Fortunately, they also upgraded their revenue estimates, and are forecasting revenues to grow slower than the wider market. Some investors might be disappointed to see that the price target is unchanged, but we feel that improving fundamentals are usually a positive - assuming these forecasts are met! So 11 bit studios could be a good candidate for more research.
Analysts are definitely bullish on 11 bit studios, but no company is perfect.
