Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Odd Khalifi, a Itera ASA (OB:ITERA) insider, recently shelled out kr76k to buy stock, at kr13.30 per share. However, it only increased their shares held by 8.3%, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Itera

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Chief Executive Officer Arne Mjøs for kr1.4m worth of shares, at about kr9.70 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of kr13.20. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.

While Itera insiders bought shares during the last year, they didn't sell. They paid about kr11.93 on average. These transactions show that insiders have confidence to invest their own money in the stock, albeit at slightly below the recent price. Insider Ownership

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Itera insiders own 50% of the company, currently worth about kr537m based on the recent share price. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.

So What Do The Itera Insider Transactions Indicate?

The recent insider purchases are heartening. And the longer term insider transactions also give us confidence. When combined with notable insider ownership, these factors suggest Itera insiders are well aligned, and quite possibly think the share price is too low. Looks promising!
