RingNet's (KOSDAQ:042500) Shareholders Will Receive A Smaller Dividend Than Last Year

RingNet Co., Ltd. (KOSDAQ:042500) has announced that on 30th of April, it will be paying a dividend of₩200, which a reduction from last year's comparable dividend. This means the annual payment is 5.1% of the current stock price, which is above the average for the industry.

RingNet's Future Dividend Projections Appear Well Covered By Earnings

We like to see robust dividend yields, but that doesn't matter if the payment isn't sustainable. RingNet is quite easily earning enough to cover the dividend, however it is being let down by weak cash flows. With the company not bringing in any cash, paying out to shareholders is bound to become difficult at some point.

If the trend of the last few years continues, EPS will grow by 16.4% over the next 12 months. Assuming the dividend continues along recent trends, we think the payout ratio could be 26% by next year, which is in a pretty sustainable range.

RingNet Is Still Building Its Track Record

The dividend hasn't seen any major cuts in the past, but the company has only been paying a dividend for 2 years, which isn't that long in the grand scheme of things. Since 2023, the annual payment back then was ₩64.1, compared to the most recent full-year payment of ₩200.00. This works out to be a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 77% a year over that time. The dividend has been growing rapidly, however with such a short payment history we can't know for sure if payment can continue to grow over the long term, so caution may be warranted.

The Dividend Looks Likely To Grow

Investors could be attracted to the stock based on the quality of its payment history. RingNet has impressed us by growing EPS at 16% per year over the past five years. Growth in EPS bodes well for the dividend, as does the low payout ratio that the company is currently reporting.

In Summary

Overall, it's not great to see that the dividend has been cut, but this might be explained by the payments being a bit high previously. With cash flows lacking, it is difficult to see how the company can sustain a dividend payment. We would probably look elsewhere for an income investment.

Companies possessing a stable dividend policy will likely enjoy greater investor interest than those suffering from a more inconsistent approach. What you have missed is that this event happened last year too. Last year the number was 21 seconds. This year it beat Bolt. That's 60% improvement in an year. Now extrapolate this in many axes of work that Robots can come and fill in. The physical productivity and AI boom is just starting.

I can't pick a company. But I can pick a person. With no doubt that's Musk. Optimus for blue collar productivity increase and xAI for white collar productivity increase. Did anyone dabble with GrokBot here?

At first glance, this was the strongest earnings season in years. But when you look at where the growth actually came from, the story splits into two very different pictures.
