With EPS Growth And More, DMSLtd (KOSDAQ:068790) Is Interesting

For beginners, it can seem like a good idea (and an exciting prospect) to buy a company that tells a good story to investors, even if it completely lacks a track record of revenue and profit. Unfortunately, high risk investments often have little probability of ever paying off, and many investors pay a price to learn their lesson.

So if you're like me, you might be more interested in profitable, growing companies, like DMSLtd (KOSDAQ:068790). While profit is not necessarily a social good, it's easy to admire a business that can consistently produce it. Conversely, a loss-making company is yet to prove itself with profit, and eventually the sweet milk of external capital may run sour.

DMSLtd's Improving Profits

Over the last three years, DMSLtd has grown earnings per share (EPS) like young bamboo after rain; fast, and from a low base. So I don't think the percent growth rate is particularly meaningful. As a result, I'll zoom in on growth over the last year, instead. Like a firecracker arcing through the night sky, DMSLtd's EPS shot from ₩772 to ₩1,718, over the last year. You don't see 122% year-on-year growth like that, very often.

I like to take a look at earnings before interest and (EBIT) tax margins, as well as revenue growth, to get another take on the quality of the company's growth. The good news is that DMSLtd is growing revenues, and EBIT margins improved by 3.3 percentage points to 15%, over the last year. Ticking those two boxes is a good sign of growth, in my book.

DMSLtd isn't a huge company, given its market capitalization of ₩208b. That makes it extra important to check on its balance sheet strength.

Are DMSLtd Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?

I like company leaders to have some skin in the game, so to speak, because it increases alignment of incentives between the people running the business, and its true owners. So it is good to see that DMSLtd insiders have a significant amount of capital invested in the stock. Indeed, they hold ₩44b worth of its stock. That's a lot of money, and no small incentive to work hard. Those holdings account for over 21% of the company; visible skin in the game.

Does DMSLtd Deserve A Spot On Your Watchlist?

DMSLtd's earnings per share have taken off like a rocket aimed right at the moon. That EPS growth certainly has my attention, and the large insider ownership only serves to further stoke my interest. At times fast EPS growth is a sign the business has reached an inflection point; and I do like those. So to my mind DMSLtd is worth putting on your watchlist; after all, shareholders do well when the market underestimates fast growing companies. You still need to take note of risks, for example - DMSLtd has 2 warning signs we think you should be aware of.

Of course, you can do well (sometimes) buying stocks that are not growing earnings and do not have insiders buying shares. But as a growth investor I always like to check out companies that do have those features. You can access a free list of them here.
