Many institutions measure their performance against an index that approximates the local market. So they usually pay more attention to companies that are included in major indices.
Cosmax already has institutions on the share registry. Indeed, they own a respectable stake in the company. This implies the analysts working for those institutions have looked at the stock and they like it. But just like anyone else, they could be wrong. So it is worth checking the past earnings trajectory of Cosmax, (below). Of course, keep in mind that there are other factors to consider, too.

Insider Ownership Of Cosmax
While the precise definition of an insider can be subjective, almost everyone considers board members to be insiders. The company management answer to the board and the latter should represent the interests of shareholders. Notably, sometimes top-level managers are on the board themselves.
I generally consider insider ownership to be a good thing. However, on some occasions it makes it more difficult for other shareholders to hold the board accountable for decisions.
Our information suggests that Cosmax, Inc. insiders own under 1% of the company. It appears that the board holds about ₩3.5b worth of stock. This compares to a market capitalization of ₩1.1t. I generally like to see a board more invested. However it might be worth checking if those insiders have been buying.
General Public Ownership
The general public, with a 44% stake in the company, will not easily be ignored. While this group can't necessarily call the shots, it can certainly have a real influence on how the company is run.
Public Company Ownership
It appears to us that public companies own 26% of Cosmax. It's hard to say for sure but this suggests they have entwined business interests. This might be a strategic stake, so it's worth watching this space for changes in ownership.
