Itoki (TSE:7972) Will Pay A Larger Dividend Than Last Year At ¥68.00
Itoki Corporation's (TSE:7972) dividend will be increasing from last year's payment of the same period to ¥68.00 on 27th of March. This takes the dividend yield to 2.8%, which shareholders will be pleased with.
Itoki's Future Dividend Projections Appear Well Covered By Earnings
A big dividend yield for a few years doesn't mean much if it can't be sustained. Based on the last payment, Itoki was paying only paying out a fraction of earnings, but the payment was a massive 6,719% of cash flows. A cash payout ratio this high could put the dividend under pressure and force the company to reduce it in the future if it were to run into tough times.
The next year is set to see EPS grow by 9.8%. If the dividend continues on this path, the payout ratio could be 39% by next year, which we think can be pretty sustainable going forward.

Itoki Has A Solid Track Record
The company has a sustained record of paying dividends with very little fluctuation. Since 2015, the annual payment back then was ¥13.00, compared to the most recent full-year payment of ¥68.00. This means that it has been growing its distributions at 18% per annum over that time. It is good to see that there has been strong dividend growth, and that there haven't been any cuts for a long time.
The Dividend Looks Likely To Grow
Some investors will be chomping at the bit to buy some of the company's stock based on its dividend history. Itoki has seen EPS rising for the last five years, at 43% per annum. Earnings have been growing rapidly, and with a low payout ratio we think that the company could turn out to be a great dividend stock.
Our Thoughts On Itoki's Dividend
Overall, we always like to see the dividend being raised, but we don't think Itoki will make a great income stock. With cash flows lacking, it is difficult to see how the company can sustain a dividend payment. This company is not in the top tier of income providing stocks.
Investors generally tend to favour companies with a consistent, stable dividend policy as opposed to those operating an irregular one. Meanwhile, despite the importance of dividend payments, they are not the only factors our readers should know when assessing a company.
