Following the latest results, Kurita Water Industries' seven analysts are now forecasting revenues of JP¥409.2b in 2025. This would be a modest 4.4% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are predicted to swell 10% to JP¥309. In the lead-up to this report, the analysts had been modelling revenues of JP¥406.6b and earnings per share (EPS) of JP¥302 in 2025. So the consensus seems to have become somewhat more optimistic on Kurita Water Industries' earnings potential following these results.

The consensus price target was unchanged at JP¥7,543, implying that the improved earnings outlook is not expected to have a long term impact on value creation for shareholders. It could also be instructive to look at the range of analyst estimates, to evaluate how different the outlier opinions are from the mean. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Kurita Water Industries at JP¥8,200 per share, while the most bearish prices it at JP¥6,500. Still, with such a tight range of estimates, it suggeststhe analysts have a pretty good idea of what they think the company is worth.

Of course, another way to look at these forecasts is to place them into context against the industry itself. The period to the end of 2025 brings more of the same, according to the analysts, with revenue forecast to display 8.9% growth on an annualised basis. That is in line with its 9.9% annual growth over the past five years. Compare this with the broader industry, which analyst estimates (in aggregate) suggest will see revenues grow 4.8% annually. So it's pretty clear that Kurita Water Industries is forecast to grow substantially faster than its industry.

The Bottom Line

The biggest takeaway for us is the consensus earnings per share upgrade, which suggests a clear improvement in sentiment around Kurita Water Industries' earnings potential next year. Happily, there were no major changes to revenue forecasts, with the business still expected to grow faster than the wider industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.

Following on from that line of thought, we think that the long-term prospects of the business are much more relevant than next year's earnings. We have forecasts for Kurita Water Industries going out to 2027, and you can see them free on our platform here.
