Chudenko (TSE:1941) Has Announced That It Will Be Increasing Its Dividend To ¥65.00
The board of Chudenko Corporation (TSE:1941) has announced that it will be paying its dividend of ¥65.00 on the 1st of December, an increased payment from last year's comparable dividend. This makes the dividend yield about the same as the industry average at 3.4%.
Chudenko's Future Dividend Projections Appear Well Covered By Earnings
Unless the payments are sustainable, the dividend yield doesn't mean too much. Before making this announcement, Chudenko was easily earning enough to cover the dividend. This means that most of what the business earns is being used to help it grow.
Over the next year, EPS could expand by 33.7% if recent trends continue. Assuming the dividend continues along recent trends, we think the payout ratio could be 26% by next year, which is in a pretty sustainable range.

Chudenko Has A Solid Track Record
The company has an extended history of paying stable dividends. Since 2015, the dividend has gone from ¥30.00 total annually to ¥130.00. This means that it has been growing its distributions at 16% per annum over that time. It is good to see that there has been strong dividend growth, and that there haven't been any cuts for a long time.
The Dividend Looks Likely To Grow
Investors could be attracted to the stock based on the quality of its payment history. Chudenko has impressed us by growing EPS at 34% per year over the past five years. Earnings per share is growing at a solid clip, and the payout ratio is low which we think is an ideal combination in a dividend stock as the company can quite easily raise the dividend in the future.
Chudenko Looks Like A Great Dividend Stock
Overall, a dividend increase is always good, and we think that Chudenko is a strong income stock thanks to its track record and growing earnings. Earnings are easily covering distributions, and the company is generating plenty of cash. Taking this all into consideration, this looks like it could be a good dividend opportunity.
Companies possessing a stable dividend policy will likely enjoy greater investor interest than those suffering from a more inconsistent approach.
