Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the V2 Retail Limited (NSE:V2RETAIL) CFO & Whole Time Director, Akash Agarwal, recently bought ₹2.5m worth of stock, for ₹102 per share. Nevertheless, it only increased their shareholding by a minuscule percentage, and it wasn't a massive purchase by absolute value, either.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At V2 Retail

Notably, that recent purchase by Akash Agarwal is the biggest insider purchase of V2 Retail shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of ₹106. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. The good news for V2 Retail share holders is that an insider was buying at near the current price. Akash Agarwal was the only individual insider to buy shares in the last twelve months.

Insider Ownership of V2 Retail

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. Our data indicates that V2 Retail insiders own about ₹490m worth of shares (which is 14% of the company). We do note, however, it is possible insiders have an indirect interest through a private company or other corporate structure. Overall, this level of ownership isn't that impressive, but it's certainly better than nothing!

So What Do The V2 Retail Insider Transactions Indicate?

It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchase. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions. However, we note that the company didn't make a profit over the last twelve months, which makes us cautious. When combined with notable insider ownership, these factors suggest V2 Retail insiders are well aligned, and quite possibly think the share price is too low. One for the watchlist, at least! In addition to knowing about insider transactions going on, it's beneficial to identify the risks facing V2 Retail. Every company has risks, and we've spotted 3 warning signs for V2 Retail (of which 1 is a bit concerning!) you should know about.
