Here's Why I Think Gokul Agro Resources (NSE:GOKULAGRO) Might Deserve Your Attention Today
Some have more dollars than sense, they say, so even companies that have no revenue, no profit, and a record of falling short, can easily find investors. But as Warren Buffett has mused, 'If you've been playing poker for half an hour and you still don't know who the patsy is, you're the patsy.' When they buy such story stocks, investors are all too often the patsy.
In contrast to all that, I prefer to spend time on companies like Gokul Agro Resources (NSE:GOKULAGRO), which has not only revenues, but also profits. Even if the shares are fully valued today, most capitalists would recognize its profits as the demonstration of steady value generation. While a well funded company may sustain losses for years, unless its owners have an endless appetite for subsidizing the customer, it will need to generate a profit eventually, or else breathe its last breath.

How Fast Is Gokul Agro Resources Growing Its Earnings Per Share?
Over the last three years, Gokul Agro Resources has grown earnings per share (EPS) like young bamboo after rain; fast, and from a low base. So I don't think the percent growth rate is particularly meaningful. As a result, I'll zoom in on growth over the last year, instead. Like the last firework on New Year's Eve accelerating into the sky, Gokul Agro Resources's EPS shot from ₹1.80 to ₹4.69, over the last year. You don't see 160% year-on-year growth like that, very often. That could be a sign that the business has reached a true inflection point.
Careful consideration of revenue growth and earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) margins can help inform a view on the sustainability of the recent profit growth. While we note Gokul Agro Resources's EBIT margins were flat over the last year, revenue grew by a solid 53% to ₹100b. That's a real positive.

Gokul Agro Resources isn't a huge company, given its market capitalization of ₹8.8b. That makes it extra important to check on its balance sheet strength.
Are Gokul Agro Resources Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
Personally, I like to see high insider ownership of a company, since it suggests that it will be managed in the interests of shareholders. So as you can imagine, the fact that Gokul Agro Resources insiders own a significant number of shares certainly appeals to me. In fact, they own 36% of the shares, making insiders a very influential shareholder group. I'm always comforted by solid insider ownership like this, as it implies that those running the business are genuinely motivated to create shareholder value. With that sort of holding, insiders have about ₹3.2b riding on the stock, at current prices. That should be more than enough to keep them focussed on creating shareholder value!
Is Gokul Agro Resources Worth Keeping An Eye On?
Gokul Agro Resources's earnings per share have taken off like a rocket aimed right at the moon. That EPS growth certainly has my attention, and the large insider ownership only serves to further stoke my interest. The hope is, of course, that the strong growth marks a fundamental improvement in the business economics. So yes, on this short analysis I do think it's worth considering Gokul Agro Resources for a spot on your watchlist. Still, you should learn about the 4 warning signs we've spotted with Gokul Agro Resources (including 2 which are a bit concerning) .
Although Gokul Agro Resources certainly looks good to me, I would like it more if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, too, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
