Have Insiders Been Buying Mi Ming Mart Holdings Limited (HKG:8473) Shares This Year?
We've lost count of how many times insiders have accumulated shares in a company that goes on to improve markedly. The flip side of that is that there are more than a few examples of insiders dumping stock prior to a period of weak performance. So shareholders might well want to know whether insiders have been buying or selling shares in Mi Ming Mart Holdings Limited (HKG:8473).
Do Insider Transactions Matter?
Most investors know that it is quite permissible for company leaders, such as directors of the board, to buy and sell stock in the company. However, most countries require that the company discloses such transactions to the market.
Insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing. But equally, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether. As Peter Lynch said, 'insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they buy them for only one: they think the price will rise'.

Mi Ming Mart Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
The Executive Director & Compliance Officer Mi Wahng Yuen made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for HK$4.4m worth of shares at a price of HK$0.15 each. Although we like to see insider buying, we note that this large purchase was at significantly below the recent price of HK$0.18. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn't tell us much about what they think of current prices.

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Mi Ming Mart Holdings insiders own 72% of the company, currently worth about HK$147m based on the recent share price. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
What Might The Insider Transactions At Mi Ming Mart Holdings Tell Us?
The fact that there have been no Mi Ming Mart Holdings insider transactions recently certainly doesn't bother us. But insiders have shown more of an appetite for the stock, over the last year. It would be great to see more insider buying, but overall it seems like Mi Ming Mart Holdings insiders are reasonably well aligned (owning significant chunk of the company's shares) and optimistic for the future.
