Strong week for China Literature (HKG:772) shareholders doesn't alleviate pain of three-year loss
China Literature Limited (HKG:772) shareholders should be happy to see the share price up 22% in the last month. But that doesn't change the fact that the returns over the last three years have been less than pleasing. In fact, the share price is down 49% in the last three years, falling well short of the market return.
On a more encouraging note the company has added HK$5.1b to its market cap in just the last 7 days, so let's see if we can determine what's driven the three-year loss for shareholders.

A Different Perspective
China Literature shareholders gained a total return of 5.6% during the year. Unfortunately this falls short of the market return. The silver lining is that the gain was actually better than the average annual return of 2% per year over five year. This could indicate that the company is winning over new investors, as it pursues its strategy. If you want to research this stock further, the data on insider buying is an obvious place to start.
