Trade Alert: The MD & Executive Director Of Ellaktor S.A. (ATH:ELLAKTOR), Anastassios Kallitsantsis, Has Sold Some Shares Recently
We wouldn't blame Ellaktor S.A. (ATH:ELLAKTOR) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Anastassios Kallitsantsis, the MD & Executive Director recently netted about €2.9m selling shares at an average price of €1.69. Probably the most concerning element of the whole transaction is that the disposal amounted to 95% of their entire holding.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Ellaktor
In fact, the recent sale by Anastassios Kallitsantsis was the biggest sale of Ellaktor shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was selling shares at around the current price of €1.53. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Ellaktor insiders own about €44m worth of shares. That equates to 13% of the company. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
