Earnings Update: Euronext N.V. (EPA:ENX) Just Reported Its Annual Results And Analysts Are Updating Their Forecasts
It's been a good week for Euronext N.V. (EPA:ENX) shareholders, because the company has just released its latest full-year results, and the shares gained 4.9% to €134. Euronext reported in line with analyst predictions, delivering revenues of €1.6b and statutory earnings per share of €5.63, suggesting the business is executing well and in line with its plan. Earnings are an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance, look at what the analysts are forecasting for next year, and see if there's been a change in sentiment towards the company. So we collected the latest post-earnings statutory consensus estimates to see what could be in store for next year.
Taking into account the latest results, the consensus forecast from Euronext's 16 analysts is for revenues of €1.72b in 2025. This reflects a credible 5.5% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are predicted to increase 7.5% to €6.12. Yet prior to the latest earnings, the analysts had been anticipated revenues of €1.71b and earnings per share (EPS) of €6.08 in 2025. The consensus analysts don't seem to have seen anything in these results that would have changed their view on the business, given there's been no major change to their estimates.

It will come as no surprise then, to learn that the consensus price target is largely unchanged at €123. There's another way to think about price targets though, and that's to look at the range of price targets put forward by analysts, because a wide range of estimates could suggest a diverse view on possible outcomes for the business. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Euronext at €147 per share, while the most bearish prices it at €90.00. These price targets show that analysts do have some differing views on the business, but the estimates do not vary enough to suggest to us that some are betting on wild success or utter failure.
Another way we can view these estimates is in the context of the bigger picture, such as how the forecasts stack up against past performance, and whether forecasts are more or less bullish relative to other companies in the industry. It's pretty clear that there is an expectation that Euronext's revenue growth will slow down substantially, with revenues to the end of 2025 expected to display 5.5% growth on an annualised basis. This is compared to a historical growth rate of 15% over the past five years. Juxtapose this against the other companies in the industry with analyst coverage, which are forecast to grow their revenues (in aggregate) 1.9% per year. Even after the forecast slowdown in growth, it seems obvious that Euronext is also expected to grow faster than the wider industry.
The Bottom Line
The most important thing to take away is that there's been no major change in sentiment, with the analysts reconfirming that the business is performing in line with their previous earnings per share estimates. Happily, there were no major changes to revenue forecasts, with the business still expected to grow faster than the wider industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
Keeping that in mind, we still think that the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for investors to consider. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for Euronext going out to 2027, and you can see them free on our platform here..
