Looking at Qt Group Oyj's (HEL:QTCOM ) insider transactions over the last year, we can see that insiders were net sellers. That is, there were more number of shares sold by insiders than there were purchased.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Qt Group Oyj

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Senior VP of Product Management, Juhapekka Niemi, sold €965k worth of shares at a price of €79.13 per share. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of €80.95, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. We generally consider it a negative if insiders have been selling, especially if they did so below the current price, because it implies that they considered a lower price to be reasonable. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. This single sale was just 26% of Juhapekka Niemi's stake. Juhapekka Niemi was the only individual insider to sell over the last year.
