From 1979 to 1986, Dr. Knoll studied law at the University of Augsburg, Germany, where he graduated with an Assessor iuris and received his doctorate in 1989. Dr. Knoll started his career in 1988 at Allianz Versicherung-Aktiengesellschaft (today Allianz Aktiengesellschaft). There, he worked as branch manager and sales manager. In 1994, Dr. Knoll founded DIATEL DIREKT AssekuranzMarketing GmbH and managed the company as managing director until 2000. In 2000, he founded SNT Deutschland AG where he was chief executive officer from 2000 to 2005. Subsequently, Dr. Knoll founded the Company in 2006 and has been a member of the Management Board from then on. Since 2015 he has been the chairman of the Management Board. In addition, Dr. Knoll serves in the German army (Bundeswehr) as colonel of reserve (Oberst der Reserve). He regularly publishes professional articles, primarily on leadership issues. Alongside his office as a member of the Management Board, Dr. Knoll is, or was within the last five years, a member of the administrative, management or supervisory bodies of and/or partner in the following companies and partnerships outside the Company: Currently: • SK Beteiligungen GmbH (managing director). Previously: • DFV Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (managing director).
