Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Sparc Al Inc (CSE:SPAI) CEO & Non-Executive Chairman, Anoosh Manzoori, recently bought CA$100k worth of stock, for CA$0.15 per share. While we're hesitant to get too excited about a purchase of that size, we do note it increased their holding by a solid 13%.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Sparc Al

Notably, that recent purchase by CEO & Non-Executive Chairman Anoosh Manzoori was not the only time they bought Sparc Al shares this year. Earlier in the year, they paid CA$0.20 per share in a CA$170k purchase. Even though the purchase was made at a significantly lower price than the recent price (CA$0.27), we still think insider buying is a positive. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.

In the last twelve months insiders purchased 3.06m shares for CA$596k. But they sold 735.45k shares for CA$147k. In total, Sparc Al insiders bought more than they sold over the last year. Does Sparc Al Boast High Insider Ownership?

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Sparc Al insiders own about CA$1.7m worth of shares. That equates to 39% of the company. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.

So What Do The Sparc Al Insider Transactions Indicate?

The recent insider purchase is heartening. And an analysis of the transactions over the last year also gives us confidence. But on the other hand, the company made a loss during the last year, which makes us a little cautious.
