Insiders were net sellers of Qoria Limited's (ASX:QOR ) stock during the past year. That is, insiders sold more stock than they bought.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Qoria Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the MD & Director, Timothy Levy, for AU$1.3m worth of shares, at about AU$0.42 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at slightly below the current price (AU$0.44). We generally consider it a negative if insiders have been selling, especially if they did so below the current price, because it implies that they considered a lower price to be reasonable. Please do note, however, that sellers may have a variety of reasons for selling, so we don't know for sure what they think of the stock price. We note that the biggest single sale was only 19% of Timothy Levy's holding. The only individual insider seller over the last year was Timothy Levy.

Insider Ownership Of Qoria

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. Qoria insiders own about AU$23m worth of shares. That equates to 4.1% of the company. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.

So What Does This Data Suggest About Qoria Insiders?

There haven't been any insider transactions in the last three months -- that doesn't mean much. We don't take much encouragement from the transactions by Qoria insiders. But we do like the fact that insiders own a fair chunk of the company. Of course, the future is what matters most.
