Hemp, Inc. Welcomes USDA Approval of GMO Hemp Strain – A Step Forward in Cannabis Biotechnology Hemp Inc. reported on a significant development in cannabis biotechnology - the USDA's approval of a genetically modified (GMO) hemp strain, a testament to the advancements and potential within this burgeoning industry. The newly approved GMO hemp variety, a breakthrough by the University of Wisconsin, is known as "Badger G". Unlike traditional breeding methods that rely on the selection and cross breeding of plants with natural genetic variations, "Badger G" has been crafted through precise genetic editing to amplify certain desirable traits - in this case, the cannabinoid CBG - while eliminating THC and CBD production. Hemp Inc. recognizes the pivotal role of biotechnology in the evolution of the cannabis industry. This innovative strain stands to solve a pivotal problem in the hemp cultivation sector: regulatory compliance regarding THC levels. This powerhouse product is super potent, absorbs rapidly in coffee, and is 4 times more potent (at a fraction of the price) than other hemp-derived coffee enhancers currently on the market. Its high-quality ingredient combination offers 30 serves per bottle and contains a total of 10,000mg of cannabinoids (7,500mg CBD and 2,500mg CBG) in an MCT oil base. Per serving, that's 250mg CBD and 83mg CBG remarkably mixed in a beautifully rich cup of coffee. The CBD/CBG coffee enhancer comes in plain (natural) and vanilla flavors. The plain (natural) coffee enhancer is available now and the vanilla flavor will be available by the end of this month. A single container (7-day supply) retails for $27.95 and a bottle (30-day supply) retails to $99.95. Wholesale bulk orders are single-use packages, available through select restaurants. Currently, Hemp Inc. has decided to expand its product line and has updated its website. The Company will announce its new products as they are launched throughout the year. Announcement • Mar 28
Hemp, Inc. Announces Significant Progress in Hemp Seed Meal Approval for Laying Hen Diets In a recent development for the agricultural and hemp industries, Hemp Inc. announced that hemp seed meal is on thecus of receiving approval for use in animal feed, starting with layinghen diets. This significant advancement follows a tentative approval of a definition for hemp seed meal by a committee of the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) earlier this year, marking a pivotal step towards legal distribution as an approved feed ingredient in the United States. Hemp Inc. and its partners view this development as not just a victory for the hemp industry, but as a testament to the sustainable and innovative solutions that hemp products can offer to the agricultural sector at large. According to AAFCO's Executive Director, Austin Therrell, the hemp seed meal would require the nod from both the AAFCO board of directors and the general membership before it can be officially distributed. The final decision is anticipated at AAFCO's annual meeting in August, in San Antonio. Notably, hemp seeds are devoid of THC and CBD, components that have raised concerns in other hemp products due to potential contamination risks. The Hemp Feed Coalition has ensured that any presence of these substances in hemp seed will be classified as contaminants, aligning with regulatory standards. Upon approval of this initial application, the Hemp Feed Coalition plans to extend its efforts to secure approvals for the use of hemp seed in diets for additional animal species, starting with ruminants and eventually expanding to broilers. The Coalition anticipates a smoother and faster approval process for these subsequent applications, buoyed by the precedent set for laying hens. Hemp Inc. has been one of the key players in this burgeoning industry, driving the market forward with its quality products and strategic market approaches. Coupled with an invaluable roster of connections with hemp manufacturers and vendors across the country and abroad, the Company expects to see meteoric growth curves on a domestic and international scale as the industry continues to grow. Hemp, Inc Announces Hempcrete Approved for U.S. Residential Construction Hemp Inc. reported that hempcrete, a carbon-sequestering fibrous insulation material, made from hemp stalk hurd and lime, has been approved for the U.S. residential building code, utilized by 49 out of 50 states. Hempcrete was approved for the model U.S. residential building code during a hearing last month, which was overseen by the International Code Council (ICC). The material was approved for the 2024 International Residential Code, which governs U.S. residential building codes for 49 out of 50 states. Specifically, hempcrete was approved as a non-structural wall infill system. The approval applies to one- and two-family dwellings, townhouses and should increase the availability of hemp-based building materials and facilitate greener construction projects around the U.S. Hempcrete creates a fire-resistant fibrous insulation wall that also acts as a moisture regulator. Since hemp is an organic material, hempcrete is considered a carbon-sequestering construction material, which further improves its sustainability. While hempcrete will be available to most home construction projects in the U.S., it remains prohibited from commercial projects until at least 2025 — that is when officials are set to renew the International Building Code, which governs any occupancies not covered by the IRC. The construction material has long been used in France and more recently in Canada, but federal hemp prohibition in the U.S. kept it out of official building codes for decades despite its uniquely sustainable properties. Hemp Inc. currently has 781,000 lbs of a Hemp/Kenaf blend of a product that is well suited as a base for Hemp/Kenaf plastics or oil spill cleanup. In addition, Hemp Inc. has enough raw Hemp/Kenaf in stock at Hemp, Inc’s manufacturing plant in Spring Hope, NC to produce another 770,000 lbs of the Hemp/Kenaf blend. The Kenaf plant looks similar to hemp even though it is a genus of hibiscus. Kenaf can be a key ingredient in the production of hempcrete because it has very similar properties to hemp when used for making plastics, oil spill cleanup, and building materials.
