Terrestrial Energy Inc. Announces Appointment of Pamela Cowan to EVP of Engineering, Effective July 30, 2026 Terrestrial Energy Inc. announced the addition of Pamela Cowan as EVP of Engineering, effective July 30, 2026. She will be based at the Charlotte, N.C. headquarters and report to Terrestrial Energy CEO Simon Irish. Cowan brought more than thirty years of experience in the nuclear industry, where she has held executive roles at Westinghouse Electric Company, with responsibility for operating plant services in the Americas, global engineered products and services, and outage field services. She has served as a senior vice president at Holtec International and was chief operating officer of one of Holtec’s principal businesses, leading its operations and the integration of acquired nuclear plant assets. Earlier, she held leadership roles at nuclear generating companies, including Exelon Generation (Constellation), American Electric Power and PSEG, where she held a senior reactor operator (SRO) license. Cowan joined Terrestrial Energy as the company advanced its IMSR Plant design through NRC regulatory review and grew its pipeline of projects. She will be leading the company’s engineering program, served as the company's designated technical authority for nuclear safety and licensing, and worked with commercial leadership to strengthen customer and supplier relationships supporting IMSR Plant deployment. Terrestrial Energy Inc. Announces Appointment of Kathryn Mccarthy to the Board of Directors Terrestrial Energy Inc. appointed industry veteran Kathryn McCarthy to the Board of Directors. McCarthy led U.S. participation in the international ITER project, the world's leading fusion energy project, as Director of the US ITER Project Office at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where she also served as Associate Laboratory Director for the Fusion and Fission Energy and Science Directorate. Previously, she served as Vice-President, Science & Technology and Laboratory Director at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. Over a 25-year career at Idaho National Laboratory, the nation's leading reactor laboratory, she held senior leadership positions including Director of Domestic Programs for Nuclear Science and Technology, Deputy Associate Laboratory Director for Nuclear Science and Technology, and Chair of the INL Science & Technology Council. Since 2026, McCarthy has served as Senior Advisor at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, supporting strategic decisions in the US ITER Project and fusion research and development. McCarthy is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society. She holds a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from UCLA.
