EDX Medical Group plc Announces Full Launch of Highly Accurate Bowel Cancer Biomarker Testing Service (BC95) in UK EDX Medical Group plc announced the full availability of the Company's comprehensive bowel cancer biomarker testing service in the UK. The BC95 testing service involves three component tests: a highly sensitive biomarker test for the very early detection of bowel cancer, a comprehensive report on a panel of hereditary genetic risks, and a reference test for faecal haemoglobin which aligns with current NHS practice. The BC95 service enable sensitivities in excess of 95% across stages 1 to 4 of bowel or colorectal cancer, the second most common cause of cancer related deaths worldwide. More than 46,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year in the UK, according to Bowel Cancer UK and around 17,700 people die per annum. EDX Medical initially offered the service to a limited group of clinicians prior to full commercial availability and preliminary clinical evaluation of the BC95 service has indicated particular demand for the early detection test. EDX Medical has an exclusive agreement with Genomictree Ltd. of South Korea, to provide their innovative EarlyTect epigenetic test that measures aberrant methylation of the SDC2 (Syndecan 2 gene) promoter region, a biomarker that is frequently observed in early-stage colorectal cancer tissues. It is the most sensitive and accurate epigenetic biomarker test for colorectal cancer currently available on the UK market. In a clinical study of 1,124 asymptomatic patients with an overall disease incidence of 1.8%, this test has been shown to have an average sensitivity of 95% for detecting stage 1-4 colorectal cancer, with an exceptionally high sensitivity (89.1%) for detecting very early-stage cancers (stage 0-2). The test even detects pre-cancerous advanced adenomatous polyps with a sensitivity of 58.1% making it a particularly useful tool for monitoring those known to have an increased risk of cancer due to hereditary genetics or lifestyle. Edx Medical Group Launches Employee Health and Wellbeing Screening Service EDX Medical Group plc announced that it is launching a new health and wellbeing screening service in the UK which features comprehensive tests for employees. The service will involve general health checks and will also include biomarker testing panels that determine risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease and metabolic disorders. The health screening service will comprise a series of comprehensive panels of individual biomarkers. These panels of tests range from 40 to 80 biomarkers covering more than 100 disease conditions. Test results are to be computed along with employee health and family history questionnaires to generate an extremely accurate and useful picture of an individual's health status. EDX Medical has reached agreement in principle with three significant UK employers, which have a total of 14,000 employees, to undertake health screening, subject to final documentation. Testing is expected to commence in Fourth Quarter this calendar year. The Company estimates that, on the basis of the current agreements in principle, fulfilment of these agreements could generate revenue in excess of £2 million this financial year, with repeat testing to be carried out in future years. EDX Medical will deploy its experienced team of nurses and logistics managers to undertake the testing sessions in the workplace and a follow-up service which includes the provision of advanced diagnostic tests if required by an employee. EDX Medical has developed the testing panels for more than 18 months and designed a unique range of biomarker combinations which we believe offer a superior, comprehensive and price-competitive testing range compared with other diagnostic services available in the UK or Europe. Our tests have regulatory approval, and the biomarker panels are perfectly designed to monitor a comprehensive range of major diseases that could seriously affect the health of employees. An estimated 148.8 million working days were lost because of sickness or injury in 2025, according to the Office of National Statistics, and official estimates state £130 billion is lost annually to the UK economy, driven by lost working capacity, recruitment costs, and decreased output.
