Ultragenyx: Progress Is Real, But Profitability Is The Real Test (Rating Upgrade)

Summary Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical won accelerated FDA approval for GENGLYCOS in GSDIa, its first gene therapy, priced at a $2.7M WAC with a net near $1.5M. Approval is conditional on confirmatory disease monitoring program data, so full approval and continued marketing hinge on that readout. I model GENGLYCOS peaking near $300M in US sales, worth roughly $333.1M NPV, but expect a slow launch. I'm upgrading RARE to Hold on improving financials but want PRV monetization and material GENGLYCOS revenue before considering Buy. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

RARE: Genglycos Approval And Angelman Phase 3 Data Will Drive Repricing

Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical's updated analyst price target framework reflects a higher fair value estimate of $94.62, with analysts pointing to the recent FDA approval and pricing of Genglycos, along with the potential sale of a Priority Review Voucher that could exceed $100m, as key factors shaping expectations for revenue, profitability, and future P/E assumptions. Analyst Commentary Recent Street research on Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical has focused heavily on the approval and pricing of Genglycos and what that might mean for profitability targets and valuation.
