Northrop Grumman Q2 2026: The Strategic Moat Widens Amid A $7.6B Sentinel Surge

Summary Northrop Grumman earns a BUY rating, driven by its indispensable role in the US nuclear triad and robust Q2 2026 performance. NOC secured a $7.6 billion Sentinel backlog and accelerated B-21 Raider production, ensuring long-term, stable cash flows despite short-term margin impacts. Relative valuation methods indicate 30–72% upside potential for NOC, with a strong backlog and operational execution de-risking future earnings. Key risks include raw material bottlenecks, trade policy uncertainty, and regulatory shifts toward fixed-price contracts, but NOC's $104.7 billion backlog offers significant downside protection. NOC: Record Backlog And Long-Cycle Deterrence Will Drive Future Returns

Northrop Grumman's analyst price target has been revised lower by $26.86 to $643.62, as analysts factor in mixed Q2 execution, some pressure on margins, and slightly lower assumed future P/E multiples, while still acknowledging steady revenue growth, stable profit margins, and updated guidance across key defense programs. Analyst Commentary Recent Street research on Northrop Grumman offers a mix of optimism and caution, with most analysts trimming price targets while reassessing execution, margins, and valuation after the Q2 update.
