Parade Technologies, Ltd. Expands DisplayPort Interface Adaptation for Automotive Grade LVDS Display Panels Parade Technologies, Ltd. announced the availability of its new high-resolution, automotive-grade PS8627V DisplayPort™ to LVDS protocol converter. The PS8627V is used to convert a DisplayPort™ (DP) or eDP™ (Embedded DisplayPort) video transport stream to the LVDS (Low-Voltage Differential Signaling) interface used by automotive-grade display panels or display assemblies. The PS8627V enables ultrawide display up to 7680x1260@60Hz with 30bpp color depth. For comparison, PS8625V, the current DP/eDP to LVDS converter in mass production for top automotive OEM, supports up to 1920x1200 display resolution. The PS8627V features a DP/eDP input of up to 4 lanes and LVDS output of up to 6 ports. Enabling a native DP/eDP connection between an automotive Video Control Unit (VCU) and display assembly can simplify system design and lower implementation cost by eliminating the need for a SERDES (serializer-deserializer) for the audio/video transport channel. The use of DP/eDP as an end-to-end connection between the video source and display also enables higher resolutions and color depths in addition to potential cost savings. The automotive industry is currently following the consumer electronic trend in transitioning from display panels using an LVDS interface to those using eDP. Notebook PCs and high-end tablets have migrated to eDP to enable higher display resolutions and color depth, and to reduce power, cost, and physical bulk. While automotive-grade eDP display panels are slowly becoming available, many automotive-grade LVDS panels of various sizes remain in production. When using an LVDS panel, Parade’s PS8627V provides an eDP input for the display assembly. Most newer SoCs and GPUs provide an output video stream using DP and eDP which enable both reduced interface pin count and full integration of the video interface into the sub-micron chip process. The higher speed data serialization rates also support higher resolutions and even multiple displays. DP and eDP both include automatic channel equalization and link training to accommodate a direct end-to-end physical connection between video source and display over several meters. Automotive-grade eDP panels are just becoming available, and there are SoCs supporting eDP. But there are many automotive qualified LVDS panels already available in various shapes, sizes and resolutions which can be upgraded to the eDP interface using the PS8627V/PS8625V. For a cable connection from the VCU to display assembly this can eliminate the need for additional SERDES chips that implement the proprietary FPD-link® or GMSL® protocols for example. With proper video source and display configurations and cabling, the reach of native eDP can exceed 3 meters. And as with DisplayPort, eDP can support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), which is supported by the PS8627V and is required for streaming premium content from DVDs and video services such as Netflix®, Hulu® and the like, or to prevent hacking of automotive display content in the interest of driver safety. Availability: The PS8627V is sampling now. The device supports an ambient temperature range of -40° to 105°C and is available in 128-pin and 176-pin LQFP packages. Aankondiging • Oct 17

Parade Technologies, Ltd. Introduces Pcie5 Linear Redriver/2X2 Cross Switch Solutions Parade Technologies, Ltd. announced the availability of the PS8580/PS8580V/PS8581 PCIe5 32Gbps linear redriver/2x2 cross switch family. PS8580 and PS8580V integrate a quad-channel unidirectional linear redriver with a 2x2 cross switch while PS8581 features a linear redriver only. PS8580/PS8581 are designed for notebook/desktop PC, server/datacenter and industrial applications while PS8580V supports automotive AEC-Q100 grade 2 requirements. Multiple PS858x devices support x4, x8 or x16 bidirectional link. PS858x family is compliant with PCIe5 specification. The PS858x family features industry's lowest active power - approximately 72mW/channel for 32Gbps operation, and the smallest package/footprint. L1PM power management results in a sub-mW ultra-low standby power. The low power features facilitate high-speed system implementation and greatly extend the battery life of mobile devices. The PS8580 and PS85 80V include a 2x2 cross switch which enables multiple connection topologies. It supports the applications of two RCs (Root Complex) sharing with one EP (End Point), two EPs with one RC, or two RCs with two EPs. This allows OEMs to implement high performance PCIe5 interconnect, storage and graphics systems. One example would be a gaming PC motherboard with dual graphics slots (two EPs) sharing a PCIe5 bus from the CPU (one RC). The PS8580, PS8580V and PS8581 are sampling. They comes in a 2.8mm x 6mm 38-pin QFN Halogen free RoHS package. PS8580 and PS8581 are available in commercial (0 to +70oC) and industrial temperature (-40 to +85oC) versions. PS8580V supports automotive aEC-Q100 grade 2 temperature (-40 to +105oC). Aankondiging • Aug 10

Parade Technologies Demonstrates the Lowest Latencies in the Industry with Its New PS8936 PCIe/CXL Re-Timer Solution Parade Technologies, Ltd. demonstrated the lowest latencies in the industry with its new PS8936 PCIe/CXL re-timer solution. PS8936 retimer chip developed for PCI Express Rev. 5.0 and Compute Express Link (CXL), supporting sixteen bidirectional lanes. In addition to supporting the 32 Gbps data rate offered by the PCI Express 5.0 specification, it also supports all lower data rates, to provide backward compatibility with earlier PCI Express revisions. The PS8936 is the PCI Express Gen 5 retimer addition to Parade's PS8926 and PS8925 PCI Express 4.0 16-lane and 4-lane retimer family currently in production, and the PS8570 PCI Express 4.0 4-channel linear redriver, which is currently sampling. The PS8936 is in full compliance with the PCI Express 5.0 specification and has been successfully tested in multiple OEM systems and PCI Express 5.0 CPU platforms. It is designed for use in enterprise systems including compute servers, accelerators, and data storage, as well as high-performance workstations. Retimers are required to maintain signal integrity in these systems which often include longer PCB traces, connectors, and cables. The doubling of data rate that PCI Express 5.0 offers compared to PCI Express 4.0 only increases the challenge of error-free signal propagation. This is why retimers are an integral part of the PCI Express 5.0 specification and system implementations. Including both adaptive CTLE and DFE equalization allows the PS8936 to compensate for up to 36 dB channel loss at Nyquist frequencies. And, in addition to supporting PCI Express specification-compliant retimer operation for both common and separate (SRIS/SRNS) clocking configurations, PS8936 features a bit-level retiming mode, activated automatically and regardless of link partners, that provides a near-0 latency path for all data transfers. Availability The PS8936 is available in an 8.9mm x 22.8mm 354-ball BGA package and is sampling now, offering support for -40 to +85 deg. ambient temperature range. Aankondiging • Jul 18
