ALLEVYN COMPLETE CARE Dressing has a unique five-layer construction with distinct mode of action technologies targeted towards both wound management and pressure injury prevention. Minimising leakage and disruption by fewer dressing changes, and protecting vulnerable skin are essential to achieving this goal. Global estimates suggest that up to one in 50 adults are affected by chronic wounds in their lifetime, facing delayed healing and complications that impact daily life. Studies report up to one in 10 hospitalised patients are affected by pressure injuries, with hospital-acquired pressure injuries associated with an average of 9.5 additional days of hospital stay. Pressure injuries and chronic wounds continue to place a significant burden on the broader healthcare system. ALLEVYN COMPLETE CARE Dressing’s proprietary technologies have advanced capabilities that are designed to help clinicians care with confidence. The dressing was developed to address the needs of both wound management and pressure injury prevention, informed by collaboration with healthcare professionals and patients worldwide. It is proven to lock in significantly more exudate than other foam dressings while keeping over 99% of bacteria away from the wound bed. This minimises leakage, enables longer wear times for undisturbed healing, and has potential to release over 10% of valuable nursing time. Unbonded sliding layers within the dressing absorb up to 93% of mechanical energy, helping to reduce the risk of pressure injury by over 65%. ALLEVYN COMPLETE CARE Dressing’s unbonded multilayer structure delivers a distinct mode of action that helps dissipate shear forces before they reach the skin and underlying soft tissues. This pioneering technology protects soft tissue and minimises the risk of developing a pressure injury. ALLEVYN COMPLETE CARE Dressing is available in five different shapes and a variety of sizes to meet a diverse range of wound care needs. Initially available in the US, the dressing will be launching in many European and other international markets in 2026 as the company continue to support patients’ unique needs, and shape what’s possible in wound care.最新情報をもっと見るRecent updatesお知らせ • May 07+ 1 more updateSmith & Nephew plc (LSE:SN.) announces an Equity Buyback for $500 million worth of its shares.Smith & Nephew plc (LSE:SN.) announces a share repurchase program. Analyzing real-world data from over 22,000 patients in the Premier PINC AI™? Healthcare Database, the analysis reveals that prophylactic use of PICO sNPWT (-80 mmHg) significantly reduces the risk of wound dehiscence, hospital length of stay (LoS), and overall healthcare costs compared to the PrevenaTM -125 mmHg sNPWT device. An estimated 313 million surgical procedures are performed worldwide each year, with the number continuing to rise. In the United States, surgical site infections (SSIs) occur in approximately 2% to 4% of patients undergoing inpatient procedures. In relation to PrevenaTM sNPWT (-125mmHg), use of PICO sNPT (-80mmHg) resulted in the following key study findings: Cardiovascular Surgery (5,000+ patients) 57.8% relative reduction in wound dehiscence risk (P 9.1% relative reduction in LoS (6.33 days vs. 6.86 days) (P 10.34% relative reduction in admission-related costs and 13% lower expenditures within three months post-surgery (P Orthopedic Surgery (17,000+ patients) 63.9% relative reduction in wound deHiscence incidence (p 29.7% relative reduction in LoS(2.43 days vs. 3.10 days) (pp 21.95% relative reduction in mean index admission cost and a 21% reduction at 30- and 90-day post-surgery. These findings complement the growing evidence supporting prophylactic use of incisional negative pressure wound therapy (iNPWT) across surgery. A recent meta-analysis presented at the International Consensus Meeting 2025 concluded that "The use of iNPWT is recommended to minimize the risk of SSI in adult patients with primarily closed surgical incisions after lower extremity/acetabular fracture surgery and joint arthroplasty of the hip and knee." These findings are aligned with the global recommendations including NICE4, WHO5 and the ACS/SIS6 guidelines, all of which recommend the use of iNPWT for the purpose of reducing the risk of SSI for at risk patients.お知らせ • Sep 13Smith+Nephew Unveils Major Clinical Evidence and Patient Access Updates for its REGENETEN Bioindictive ImplantSmith+Nephew announced new evidence and market updates that highlight the clinical performance of its REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant and support its further adoption. Analyzing real-world data from over 10,000 C-section patients treated at different pressure levels, the study published in WOUNDS (April 2025) reveals that PICO sNPWT contributes to a significant reduction in surgical site complications (SSCs), including a reduction in the incidence of surgical site infections (SSIs), wound dehiscence and seroma, and overall costs, compared to another sNPWT device (P=0.05). New survey: The real-life burden of C-section complications: A complementary survey of new mothers who have undergone C-sections highlighted the impact of SSCs on both mother and baby: Mothers with complications reported requiring hospital readmissions; Are 5 times more likely to describe their recovery as traumatic; Over half (55%) reported feeling depressed than those that reported no complications; Are 5.4 times more likely to be unable to breastfeed; Two in three mothers (66.3%) reported that their overall c-section recovery impacted their ability to bond with their baby. Real-world data shows the clinical and economic benefits of using PICO sNPWT in patients undergoing C-section procedures: The study used real-world evidence from the Premier PINC AI™ Healthcare Database to analyze outcomes from a geographically diverse mix of community hospitals, teaching hospitals and healthcare systems across the US. Notable findings include significant reductions with PICO sNPWT, compared to other sNPWT devices in the incidence of: Overall SSIs (p=0.018); Superficial SSIs (p=0.017); Wound dehiscence (p=0.005); Seroma formation(p=0.050). PICO sNPWT is proven to reduce the odds of surgical site infections (SSIs), which could facilitate early mother and baby bonding and positively impacts on the patient’s emotional wellbeing.お知らせ • May 02Smith & Nephew plc Maintains Earnings Guidance for the Full Year 2025Smith & Nephew plc maintained earnings guidance for the full year of 2025. お知らせ • Apr 10Smith+Nephew Announces Significant Outcome Improvements for Regeneten Bioinductive Implant in Partial-Thickness Rotator Cuff TearsSmith+Nephew announced compelling new randomized control trial (RCT) data confirming significant outcome improvements for patients with partial-thickness rotator cuff tears treated with the REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant in isolation. Compared with a traditional suture anchor repair, early recovery time was halved for patients returning to daily activities such as: Driving: 2.3 vs 5.1 weeks, Office work: 1.7 vs 3.6 weeks (p=0.009), Moderate-intensity household chores: 3.8 vs 8.4 weeks. The study, recently published in the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, also concluded that REGENETEN Implant patients enjoyed a better quality of life at 6 weeks and 3 months, and high rates of tendon healing at 1 year, comparable to suture anchor-based repairs. This is the third RCT demonstrating that the REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant improves outcomes versus traditional rotator cuff repair techniques. With more than 250,000 procedures completed globally since its introduction in 2014, the REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant has had a transformative impact, offering a better solution for thousands of patients with rotator cuff injuries every year. The collagen-based implant supports the body’s natural healing response to facilitate the formation of new tissue to biologically augment repairs. This evidence follows the recent revision to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Clinical Practice Guideline on the ‘Management of Rotator Cuff Injuries’ which highlights the value of bioinductive implants in rotator cuff repair based on an independent analysis of studies. The REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant is part of Smith+Nephew’s comprehensive Advanced Healing Solutions portfolio – redefining biological healing in rotator cuff repair.

お知らせ • Mar 11Smith+Nephew Launches Allevyn Complete Care Foam DressingSmith+Nephew recently announced the launch of ALLEVYN COMPLETE CARE Foam Dressing, featuring proprietary technologies and performance backed by a portfolio of strong scientific data and clinical evidence. Initially available in the US, the dressing will be launching in many European and other international markets in 2026 as the company continue to support patients’ unique needs, and shape what’s possible in wound care.

お知らせ • Oct 28Smith+Nephew Announces Findings from A Newly Published, First-Of-Its-Kind comparative Study of Single-Use Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Devices inorthopedic and Cardiovascular SurgerySmith+Nephew announced findings from a newly published, first-of-its-kind comparative study of single-use negative pressure wound therapy (sNPWT) devices in orthopedic and cardiovascular surgery. A recent meta-analysis presented at the International Consensus Meeting 2025 concluded that "The use of iNPWT is recommended to minimize the risk of SSI in adult patients with primarily closed surgical incisions after lower extremity/acetabular fracture surgery and joint arthroplasty of the hip and knee." These findings are aligned with the global recommendations including NICE4, WHO5 and the ACS/SIS6 guidelines, all of which recommend the use of iNPWT for the purpose of reducing the risk of SSI for at risk patients.
お知らせ • Sep 13Smith+Nephew Unveils Major Clinical Evidence and Patient Access Updates for its REGENETEN Bioindictive ImplantSmith+Nephew announced new evidence and market updates that highlight the clinical performance of its REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant and support its further adoption. Substantial investment into research to expand access and indications have led to these important results designed to help surgeons treat more patients who suffer from rotator cuff tears and other tendon and extra-articular ligament injuries throughout the body: AAOS Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) on the Management of Rotator Cuff Injuries: For the first time, recent updates to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) CPG on the Management of Rotator Cuff Injuries highlight the value of bioinductive implants in rotator cuff repair, based on independent analysis of studies: AAOS CPGs provide evidence-based recommendations for current orthopaedic diagnostic, treatment, and postoperative procedures; Analyzing RCTs for bioinductive implants, AAOS have issued a StrongRecommendation that: ‘The use of bioinductive tendon implants to augment rotator cuff repair, or as an alternative to standard repair, can lead to lower re-tear rates and better patient reported outcomes.’ Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) Results: Two-year results of the MALLAMANGUITO RCT from Dr. Miguel A. Ruiz Ibán and colleagues demonstrated a sustained 65% relative reduction in re-tear rates when using the REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant to augment repair of full-thickness rotator cuff tears: Two-year re-tear rates were 12.3% (7/57) with the REGENETEN Implant vs. 35.1% (20/57) with standard repair (p=0.004).These results build on previously reported 1-year results which have already made a significant impact in supporting patient access and adoption. Extra-articular Ligaments: For the first time, Smith+Nephew is able to market the REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant for extra-articular ligament injuries in the US. This new indication expansion offers opportunities to reach more patients with soft tissue injuries throughout the body. It will initially focus on hip capsule repair with abundant opportunities for future expansions in other extra-articular ligament repairs. With more than 150,000 procedures completed globally since its introduction in 2014, the REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant has had a transformative impact, offering a better solution for the more than 1 million people having tendon or extra-articular ligament repair each year. The collagen-based implant supports the body’s natural healing response to facilitate the formation of new tissue to biologically augment repairs and support natural healing processes. The REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant is part of Smith+Nephew’s comprehensive Advanced Healing Solutions portfolio – redefining biological healing in rotator cuff repair.

お知らせ • Jun 10Smith+Nephew Announces the Introduction of A New Medial Stabilized Insert for Its Legion Total Knee SystemSmith+Nephew announced the introduction of a new medial stabilized insert for its LEGION Total Knee System (TKS). Medial stabilized inserts are seeing a steep rise in popularity, growing from 4% of Total Knee Arthroplasty procedures in 2018 to 32% in 2023. With the ability to be used with or without the Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL), procedural trends are moving away from Posterior Stabilized (PS) design types to more bone- conservative Cruciate Retaining (CR) femoral designs. The reduction of operating steps also creates the potential for greater efficiency and shorter time in the OR for both surgeon and patient. The medial stabilized design aims to maintain stability with a larger anterior medial lip and medial pivot kinematics similar to the natural knee. The LEGION Medial Stabilized TKS stands out in this space - offering a powerful combination of medial stabilized kinematics, advanced porous fixation, integration with technologies like the CORI* Surgical System, and a strong clinical legacy. It's an ideal solution for surgeons looking to align with the principles of personalized care. The LEGION MedialStabilized TKS has demonstrated more than 20 years of clinical success, with the new medial stabilized insert adding a modern design to align with rapidly growing market trends. The LEGION Medial STabilized TKS is the latest addition to the LEGION portfolio supporting both the LEGION CONCELOC Cementless and LEGION Cemented Total Knee Systems. The medial stabilized insert for LEGION TKS is available in the US on a limited basis, with a full commercial release later in 2025. The system will also be introduced in Canada in 2026.
お知らせ • May 15Smith+Nephew Announces A Comparative sNPWT Study of 10,000+ C-sections Shows PICO™ sNPWT Reduces Complications and Cuts Healthcare Costs by $728,000 Per 1,000 PatientsSmith+Nephew announced findings from a newly published comparative study of single-use Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (sNPWT) devices in Caesarean section (C-section) recovery has identified significant benefits for postpartum use of Smith+Nephew’s leading PICO sNPWT technology. PICO sNPWT is proven to reduce the odds of surgical site infections (SSIs), which could facilitate early mother and baby bonding and positively impacts on the patient’s emotional wellbeing.
