Summary Moderna and Merck have been working together for some years now on cancer therapies that would combine Merck’s Keytruda antibody with personalized mRNA immunotherapy from Moderna. Since each cancer patient’s tumor case is indeed somewhat different from any other, the idea is to use biopsy and blood samples to tailor the therapeutic-vaccine effects of the mRNA injections to each patient's profile of neoantigens being produced by their tumors. The trial met its primary endpoint of improvement in recurrance-free survival and a secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival.
