In 2014, our founder, Al Bentley, was learning to invest for the first time. Like many, he quickly ran into a wall. The tools available were built for professionals, meaning they were heavy on spreadsheets, jargon, and complexity.

For someone just starting out, making confident decisions felt almost impossible.As an engineer, Al believed there had to be a better way. He started building tools for himself that would turn complex financial data into something clear, visual, and easy to understand.

What began as a personal project soon resonated with friends (and then strangers), and Simply Wall St was born.
