ZenaTech Develops Integrated Counter-Uas System Pairing Interceptor P-1 Drone with Zena Ai Detection and Swarm Command Software ZenaTech, Inc. commenced development of an integrated counter-UAS system consisting of a software platform and architecture for its counter-UAS hardware and defense system. The platform is intended to exclusively connect the ZenaDrone Interceptor P-1 single-use, low-cost autonomous interceptor drone and the ZenaDrone 2000 Maritime Interceptor drone, with an AI software platform that will be developed by its U.S. Zena AI division. The intended goal is to deliver a complete, AI-directed counter-UAS ecosystem for detecting and classifying airborne threats and autonomously commanding fleets to defeat them. The Zena AI-developed Counter-UAS platform is intended to function as a single AI software system with two core functionalities that are purpose-built for the Interceptor P-1 and ZenaDrone 2000 drones. This consists of a Threat Tracking System, intended to detect, identify, and track hostile slow-moving drones in real time, and a Swarm Intelligence Coordination Platform, intended to autonomously direct fleets of either of the ZenaDrone drone platforms to intercept and defeat the targets. The development is expected to be led by the company’s Zena AI division in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, starting in the coming weeks. The Zena AI R&D center will support US Department of War and other federal agency requirements through the development of secure, defense-oriented artificial intelligence systems development and research. The facility plans to focus on mission-critical research areas including AI-driven decision-support systems, autonomous and semi-autonomous intelligence architectures, advanced sensor and data fusion, secure edge intelligence, and quantum-enhanced optimization and modeling. The ZenaDrone Interceptor P-1 is a small, expendable, autonomous VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) drone engineered to physically intercept and neutralize hostile drones in flight, with a planned selling price of under $5,000 each. The ZenaDrone 2000 is ZenaTech's Maritime Interceptor drone platform designed for deployment from the IQ Glider, an autonomous marine launch and refueling station, to extend counter-UAS capability across sea-based and coastal operating environments. Together, these platforms form the hardware foundation of ZenaTech's integrated counter-UAS defense ecosystem, along with Zena AI software designed to detect threats and autonomously command fleets. The company is targeting a complete drone-on-drone defense capability at a cost per engagement that conventional missile and laser systems cannot match. Duyuru • Mar 20
ZenaTech, Inc. Announces ZenaDrone Interceptor P-1 Single-Use Autonomous Interceptor Drone ZenaTech, Inc. announced that its previously disclosed Interceptor P-1 single-use, one-way autonomous drone being developed by its ZenaDrone subsidiary, is being designed to have a target selling price of under USD 5,000. The company previously disclosed it has initiated development of a prototype version for the small, one-way interceptor drone designed to stop hostile drones by physically intercepting them in-flight. The Interceptor P-1 is being built as an autonomous and expendable vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL)-design drone that can be added to the company’s counter-UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) defense system offering dramatically lower costs than traditional air munitions. The Interceptor P-1 is a critical piece of ZenaDrone’s integrated defense ecosystem, designed to work seamlessly with our interceptor platforms and marine launch station, and enabling a coordinated drone-on-drone solution that delivers a unified, cost-effective aerial defense capability for U.S. Defense and allied forces. The Interceptor P-1 is designed to address a critical asymmetry in modern warfare. Adversaries routinely deploy low-cost commercial and military drones at scale, while conventional intercept solutions -- including surface-to-air missiles and laser systems -- carry costs that are orders of magnitude higher than the threats they defeat. The Interceptor P-1 prototype is being purpose-built to reverse this equation. With versatile launch options planned, including ground, vehicle, and maritime deployment via the company’s IQ Glider maritime drone platform, the Interceptor P-1 is being built to respond rapidly across multiple environments. By offering scalable interception capabilities, it is designed to help defense forces protect critical infrastructure, manage enemy drone swarms, and complement existing air defense systems as a strategic addition to the ZenaDrone counter-UAS platform. The company is targeting an initial prototype completion in the upcoming months and will provide further updates on product development, regulatory milestones, and defense and government agency engagement and pilots as progress continues. The global counter-UAS market is growing at over 25% per year, projected to exceed USD 10 billion by 2030 according to Markets and Markets, driven by intensifying drone warfare in multiple active theaters and the proliferation of commercially available drones repurposed for battlefield use. ZenaTech management believes the company is positioning the Interceptor P-1 for future procurement opportunities that includes allied governments, NATO partners, and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) defense customers. ZenaTech Commences Development of IQ Glider, an Autonomous Marine Drone Launch And Refueling Station for the ZenaDrone 2000 Intercept Drone ZenaTech commenced development of the IQ Glider, an autonomous marine-based drone launch and refueling station. The IQ Glider is designed to extend the operational endurance of the company’s ZenaDrone 2000 Maritime Interceptor defense system, which enables continuous multi-drone intercept operations without requiring shore infrastructure or missile-based counter measures. The initiation of the IQ Glider technology follows the company’s recent announcement of the development of a prototype for the ZenaDrone 2000, a cost-effective, gas-powered sea-launched drone interceptor designed to detect and intercept multiple incoming unmanned aerial threats. The strategic and economic case for the combined IQ Glider platform and ZenaDrone 2000 drone system rests on the clear cost imbalance in modern maritime drone warfare. The Company believes that Naval forces that are using interceptor missiles costing up to $1 million or more to destroy drones worth about $50,000 represents an unsustainable model, especially against continuous swarm attacks that strain both budgets and missile capacity. The company’s integrated systems are designed to address this problem at scale with a persistent, autonomous, ship-based capability that counters “drones with drones” built at a fraction of missile costs. This air defense system is well positioned for future U.S. Navy, NATO, and Gulf Coordination Council defense programs, and Coast Guard modernization efforts seeking scalable maritime air defense. Sustained operational presence has historically limited maritime drone defense due to individual drones that can only remain airborne for a finite period before requiring fuel or maintenance. The IQ Glider is designed to solve this challenge, providing a platform for ZenaDrone 2000 drones to launch, land, refuel, and redeploy in coordinated rotations directly from naval vessels. ZenaTech’s management believes this relay-style approach enables continuous coverage over ships and surrounding maritime zones during extended missions. Both the IQ Glider and the ZenaDrone 2000 Maritime Interceptor are currently in active development. The ZenaDrone 2000 prototype is at the design and development stage, with testing expected before the end of the year. The IQ Glider is being developed in parallel as the dedicated launch and refueling infrastructure for ZenaDrone 2000 fleet operations. ZenaTech will provide updates on combined system development milestones, prototype testing timelines, and defense customer engagement as they are achieved.
