We wouldn't blame Arcturus Therapeutics Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:ARCT) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Andrew Sassine, the CFO & Director recently netted about US$1.6m selling shares at an average price of US$32.03. That sale reduced their total holding by 18% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Arcturus Therapeutics Holdings

Notably, that recent sale by Andrew Sassine is the biggest insider sale of Arcturus Therapeutics Holdings shares that we've seen in the last year. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$25.96). So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.

While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.

What Might The Insider Transactions At Arcturus Therapeutics Holdings Tell Us?

An insider sold stock recently, but they haven't been buying. And even if we look at the last year, we didn't see any purchases. While insiders do own shares, they don't own a heap, and they have been selling. So we'd only buy after careful consideration. While it's good to be aware of what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
