Why WWE And Comcast Continue To Be Great Tag-Team Partners
The relationship between WWE and Comcast has long been a profitable and mutually successful one that was recently taken to a new level. Last year the WWE Network was folded into Peacock giving the Comcast-owned service an influx of exclusive content from a reliable brand which served as a great service differentiator. The move made sense as the market was struggling to understand the WWE way of business and Comcast needed to bulk up its streaming bet with proven IP. While Comcast has gotten more secretive with performance data around Peacock, a new report suggests the WWE deal has led to a strong influx of new and potentially paying customers. The WWE deal paired with its acquisition of "The Office," new buzzy originals and an increase in sports-centric content seems to have helped Peacock continue carving out a streaming niche.
