Glaukos Corporation (NYSE:GKOS) Yearly Results Just Came Out: Here's What Analysts Are Forecasting For This Year
It's been a mediocre week for Glaukos Corporation (NYSE:GKOS) shareholders, with the stock dropping 18% to US$126 in the week since its latest yearly results. Glaukos reported revenues of US$383m, in line with expectations, but it unfortunately also reported (statutory) losses of US$2.77 per share, which were slightly larger than expected. This is an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance in its report, look at what experts are forecasting for next year, and see if there has been any change to expectations for the business. We've gathered the most recent statutory forecasts to see whether the analysts have changed their earnings models, following these results.

After the latest results, the twelve analysts covering Glaukos are now predicting revenues of US$478.3m in 2025. If met, this would reflect a sizeable 25% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. The loss per share is expected to greatly reduce in the near future, narrowing 56% to US$1.16. Before this latest report, the consensus had been expecting revenues of US$480.2m and US$1.25 per share in losses. So there seems to have been a moderate uplift in analyst sentiment with the latest consensus release, given the upgrade to loss per share forecasts for this year.
The average price target held steady at US$166, seeming to indicate that business is performing in line with expectations. The consensus price target is just an average of individual analyst targets, so - it could be handy to see how wide the range of underlying estimates is. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Glaukos at US$200 per share, while the most bearish prices it at US$120. There are definitely some different views on the stock, but the range of estimates is not wide enough as to imply that the situation is unforecastable, in our view.
Taking a look at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can understand these forecasts is to see how they compare to both past performance and industry growth estimates. The analysts are definitely expecting Glaukos' growth to accelerate, with the forecast 25% annualised growth to the end of 2025 ranking favourably alongside historical growth of 9.5% per annum over the past five years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to grow their revenue at 7.9% per year. It seems obvious that, while the growth outlook is brighter than the recent past, the analysts also expect Glaukos to grow faster than the wider industry.
The Bottom Line
The most obvious conclusion is that the analysts made no changes to their forecasts for a loss next year. Happily, there were no major changes to revenue forecasts, with the business still expected to grow faster than the wider industry. The consensus price target held steady at US$166, with the latest estimates not enough to have an impact on their price targets.
