Not Many Are Piling Into Lifeward Ltd. (NASDAQ:LFWD) Stock Yet As It Plummets 25%

Published
NasdaqCM:LFWD

Unfortunately for some shareholders, the Lifeward Ltd. (NASDAQ:LFWD) share price has dived 25% in the last thirty days, prolonging recent pain. The recent drop completes a disastrous twelve months for shareholders, who are sitting on a 55% loss during that time.

Following the heavy fall in price, Lifeward's price-to-sales (or "P/S") ratio of 0.9x might make it look like a strong buy right now compared to the wider Medical Equipment industry in the United States, where around half of the companies have P/S ratios above 3.4x and even P/S above 8x are quite common. Although, it's not wise to just take the P/S at face value as there may be an explanation why it's so limited.

How Has Lifeward Performed Recently?

Recent times have been advantageous for Lifeward as its revenues have been rising faster than most other companies. One possibility is that the P/S ratio is low because investors think this strong revenue performance might be less impressive moving forward. If the company manages to stay the course, then investors should be rewarded with a share price that matches its revenue figures.

Keen to find out how analysts think Lifeward's future stacks up against the industry? In that case, our free report is a great place to start.

Is There Any Revenue Growth Forecasted For Lifeward?

Lifeward's P/S ratio would be typical for a company that's expected to deliver very poor growth or even falling revenue, and importantly, perform much worse than the industry.

If we review the last year of revenue growth, we see the company's revenues grew exponentially. The amazing performance means it was also able to deliver huge revenue growth over the last three years. So we can start by confirming that the company has done a tremendous job of growing revenue over that time.

Looking ahead now, revenue is anticipated to climb by 59% each year during the coming three years according to the dual analysts following the company. Meanwhile, the rest of the industry is forecast to only expand by 9.3% each year, which is noticeably less attractive.

With this in consideration, we find it intriguing that Lifeward's P/S sits behind most of its industry peers. Apparently some shareholders are doubtful of the forecasts and have been accepting significantly lower selling prices.

What Does Lifeward's P/S Mean For Investors?

Having almost fallen off a cliff, Lifeward's share price has pulled its P/S way down as well. Typically, we'd caution against reading too much into price-to-sales ratios when settling on investment decisions, though it can reveal plenty about what other market participants think about the company.

To us, it seems Lifeward currently trades on a significantly depressed P/S given its forecasted revenue growth is higher than the rest of its industry. There could be some major risk factors that are placing downward pressure on the P/S ratio. At least price risks look to be very low, but investors seem to think future revenues could see a lot of volatility.

Having said that, be aware Lifeward is showing 4 warning signs in our investment analysis, and 1 of those is potentially serious.
