Lightbridge: Better Funded, But Still Too Early To Upgrade

Summary Lightbridge shows improved technical progress and a stronger balance sheet but remains uninvestable due to a lack of revenue and persistent dilution risk. LTBR’s $215.7 million cash position and minimal liabilities provide a runway for R&D, yet ongoing cash burn and reliance on capital markets erode shareholder value. Key milestones include Stern Laboratories’ engineering contract and INL irradiation testing, but commercial licensing and revenue remain distant prospects. I maintain a Hold rating on LTBR, as high risk and uncertain valuation outweigh recent operational and partnership advancements. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Lightbridge's metallic fuel design is granted patent in Korea

Lightbridge (NASDAQ:LTBR) announced Tuesday that it has been granted patent in Korea surrounding the company's fuel assembly design for use in CANDU-type reactors. The report highlighted the design incorporates Lightbridge's metallic fuel rods arranged into a mixed grid pattern that includes a first, rectangular grid pattern and a second, triangular grid pattern. "Korea represents a significant potential market for Lightbridge metallic fuel with 25 operating pressurized water reactors and an additional 5 reactors either under construction or planned by 2025, according to the most current data compiled by the World Nuclear Association," commented Seth Grae, President and CEO of Lightbridge.  Earlier (Jul. 17): Lightbridge GAAP EPS of -$0.14

Lightbridge and Curio sign MoU for exploring collaboration in nuclear fuel supply chain

Lightbridge (NASDAQ:LTBR) signed a MoU with Curio as an industry partner and potential off-taker of products produced through Curio's TRUfuel technology. Both the companies will work for developing nuclear technologies that will be key to ushering in the second nuclear era for future generations. "We are excited to enter into this agreement with Curio as we explore future government funding opportunities relating to Curio’s TRUfuel technology and potential use of such transuranic material as feedstock material in Lightbridge-designed metallic fuel rods to power existing large reactors and coming small modular reactors," president & CEO Seth Grae commented.

Lightbridge: Eventually Risk Will Pay Off

Lightbridge has developed a highly innovative nuclear fuel that could find application in many different reactors and has thus a TAM of more than $20 billion. The company is still zero-revenue. With operating costs and R&D constantly burning cash, they need to license out their technology as soon as possible. The very friendly and promising bi-partisan environment around innovative nuclear could benefit Lightbridge and help them grow faster. Right now, the company is a buy following the recent crash, and has an overall upside potential of 70% in the next few years, as nuclear advances.
