He served as Vice President of Natexis ABM Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Natexis Banques Populaires from September 2000 to September 2003. From 1997 to 2000, he served as a Vice President of Mortgage-Backed Securities trading of Credit Agricole. He has a public accounting background. Prior to Credit Agricole, he served as a Vice President of Natexis ABM Corp., from 1988 to 1997. Prior to Natexis ABM Corp., he served as Controller of PaineWebber Real Estate Securities Inc. from 1986 to 1988, the mortgage-backed trading subsidiary of PaineWebber Inc. Prior to PaineWebber, he served with Citibank in its Capital Markets Group and Ernst & Young from 1984 to 1985. He has been the Chairman of New York Mortgage Trust Inc. since March 30, 2015 and has been its Director since March 31, 2007. Its investment portfolio includes structured multi-family property investments, such as multi-family commercial mortgage-backed securities and preferred equity in, and mezzanine loans to owners of multi-family properties; residential mortgage loans, including distressed residential mortgage loans, non- qualified mortgage loans, second mortgages, and other residential mortgage loans; non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS); agency RMBS; and other mortgage-related and residential housing-related assets. The company qualifies as a real estate investment trust for federal income tax purposes. It generally would not be subject to federal corporate income taxes if it distributes at least 90% of its taxable income to its stockholders.
