IDEX: Improving Macro And Capital Deployment, But Not Much Share Price Momentum
IDEX came up a little short in the second quarter, due in large part to weaker oil/gas market demand and some restructuring efforts in the FMT business. Management is seeing a broad industrial recovery, as well as strong demand in areas like agriculture, food, pharma, and semiconductors, and water and chemicals should improve from here. IDEX has been a little more active lately with M&A and could still deploy $1B-$2B towards more deals. Including M&A, I expect better than 6% long-term revenue growth and 8% FCF growth from IDEX. The shares aren't cheap, but you could make a relative quality argument over other pricey industrial stocks.
