America Wants Homegrown Drones — Draganfly Is Ready to Deliver

Key Takeaways Draganfly is one of the most experienced drone manufacturers worldwide, boasting nearly three decades of innovation, and is now emerging as a North American leader in secure, NDAA-compliant drones. The company is riding massive industry tailwinds as Western governments shift away from Chinese-made drones, funneling billions into trusted domestic suppliers.

Why Risk Of Further Dilution Outweighs Draganfly's Good Prospects

Summary Draganfly continues to dilute shareholders with frequent equity issuances, increasing outstanding shares by over 150% in H1 2025. Despite positive developments like a 37% YoY increase in product sales, the company remains unprofitable with operating losses each quarter. Gross profit is positive, but comprehensive profit is negative and substantial in size, raising concerns about how long it will take for the company to become profitable. The investment thesis remains a 'sell' due to ongoing losses and dilution risk, despite the industry's potential and Draganfly's prospects as a leading company in that industry. Draganfly's Q1 2022 Results Look Underwhelming, And I'm Tempted To Open A Short Position

The company’s revenues rose by 32.8% to $1.59 million in Q1 2022, but most of the growth came from Dronelogics which resells third-party drones. The operating loss widened, and the funds used in operating activities were $2.71 million. There is no news about the deal with Digital Dream Labs, which I find concerning considering this was Draganfly’s largest order to date. I think the business of Draganfly isn’t worth much in its current state, and the short borrow fee rate is below 6%.

Draganfly: The New Order For Ukraine Is Not A Gamechanger And I'm Bearish

The company announced that it received an order of 10 drones for Ukraine that can be increased to 200 units and its market valuation soared by 40% a single day. However, those 200 drones cost about $6 million and Draganfly booked an operating loss of $6.36 million in Q3 2021 alone. In my view, the new order won’t significantly change the company’s fundamentals, and I remain bearish. I think that the share price is likely to decline below $1.10 once again as retail investor interest fades off.

The Prudent Approach For Investing In Draganfly

After an excessive rally at the beginning of 2021, Draganfly share prices have fallen back to justifiable lower levels. Other drone companies fell back from very high valuations as well. The industry is still in an emerging phase. Double-digit growth of the drone industry is expected, but it's too early to tell which companies will benefit the most. Draganfly offers a good chance of success. It has cash, revenue growth and a viable path to profitability in combination with two decades of experience in the industry. A prudent investing approach is to build speculative positions in several drone stocks with small purchases at a time. This spreads the risks over time and over several companies.
