I-Tech (STO:ITECH) Has Announced That It Will Be Increasing Its Dividend To SEK1.75
I-Tech AB's (STO:ITECH) dividend will be increasing from last year's payment of the same period to SEK1.75 on 22nd of May. Although the dividend is now higher, the yield is only 1.9%, which is below the industry average.
I-Tech's Projected Earnings Seem Likely To Cover Future Distributions
It would be nice for the yield to be higher, but we should also check if higher levels of dividend payment would be sustainable. Before making this announcement, I-Tech was easily earning enough to cover the dividend. As a result, a large proportion of what it earned was being reinvested back into the business.
The next year is set to see EPS grow by 137.5%. If the dividend continues on this path, the payout ratio could be 22% by next year, which we think can be pretty sustainable going forward.

I-Tech Is Still Building Its Track Record
Without a track record of dividend payments, we can't make a judgement on how stable it has been. This doesn't mean that the company can't pay a good dividend, but just that we want to wait until it can prove itself.
The Dividend Looks Likely To Grow
The company's investors will be pleased to have been receiving dividend income for some time. I-Tech has impressed us by growing EPS at 36% per year over the past five years. A low payout ratio gives the company a lot of flexibility, and growing earnings also make it very easy for it to grow the dividend.
We Really Like I-Tech's Dividend
Overall, a dividend increase is always good, and we think that I-Tech is a strong income stock thanks to its track record and growing earnings. Earnings are easily covering distributions, and the company is generating plenty of cash. All in all, this checks a lot of the boxes we look for when choosing an income stock.
Investors generally tend to favour companies with a consistent, stable dividend policy as opposed to those operating an irregular one. However, there are other things to consider for investors when analysing stock performance.
